Chemotherapy

We can remove weeds by using chemicals in the garden. Our chemical potion called “weed remover” causes the bad weeds to die. It leaves the good flowers alone, but sometimes the flowers can get damaged too. 

 

We can do the same thing for cancer! Doctors use a medicines called chemotherapy that travel all over throughout the body and hurt the bad tumor cells. It leaves the most of the good healthy cells alone, but can damage them as well.

 

Sometimes it thinks fingernail cells or hair cells are bad cells, but these healthy cells can recover and grow back. Chemotherapy medicines can be a pill or injected.
