Radiation Therapy

We can use light rays to remove the weeds. Using a tool called a magnifying glass, we can make sunlight rays strong! These can zap the weeds!

 

Similarly,  radiation therapy uses light rays to treat the tumor. They use a tool called a "LINAC" to create strong x-rays. The x-rays can go through the body and zap the tumor!

 

These are not like regular x-rays that take pictures of the inside of the body. These stronger x-rays used for treatment can not be smelled, seen or felt. The machine can point at the target or rotate around you, focusing on the tumor.
